Hi,
Does anyone know if glite 3.1 WMS is certified for SL5 OS? Or, better, is anyone running glite 3.1 WMS on SL5 systems?
The support for SL4 is stopping in few weeks, so not sure how useful is the statement about
"*glite 3.1 WMS decommisioning deadline to be evaluated after the release of EMI 2.0"
if SL5 is not appropriate for glite3.1 WMS.
At RAL I have never tried to install it on SL5, and I still have one WMS node to be migrated from SL4 glite3.1 to SL5 EMI. But following the recent bugs/fixes/bugs/fixes related to EMI WMS I am thinking to move to glite3.1 SL5 if have to.
Cheers,
Catalin

Subject: gLite to EMI transition
Dear All
This morning's discussion about deployed middleware and the useful summary put together by Daniela help to inform about the required transition away from gLite. Given some of the problems seen with various packages I was curious as to the situation across EGI and Tiziana and Peter took an action to review the status - that status was reported at today's OMB and I attach the summary slides. I have figures for gLite nodes in the UK which we can discuss further next week. In the meantime the proposal put forward to encourage sites off of gLite 3.1 is as follows:
*By end of Sep 2012 decommissioning of
-all gLite 3.1 unsupported products
-lcg-ce
-All site-BDII earlier than 3.2.10-1 (non-GLUE 2.0 compatible)
*glite 3.1 WMS decommisioning deadline to be evaluated after the release of EMI 2.0
*Site suspended if deploying an obsolete service
Looking at the EGI wide figures I think we (UK) are slightly ahead of most countries even though I am concerned that we should be further ahead.
