**************************************APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING***************************
The London meeting on March 8th is filling up fast, there are about ten or so places left. If you would like to come along but haven't already signed up please contact me off list. These places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The meeting is free of charge. If you wish to attend the meeting please contact Elizabeth Barber ([log in to unmask]).
The theme for the meeting is "Records Management in Troubled Times" and the meetings are being sponsored by Oyster IMS. The agenda can be found at http://www.irms.org.uk/groups/local-government/meetings/968.
The morning sessions are shared between Jane Proffitt (Proffitt from Records Management) who will be talking on a number of aspects of outsourcing records management and Alison North (AN Information Ltd) who will be talking on how to decide what records should be retained when an organisation is acquired, dissolved or a building is closed. This will be followed by a case study presented by the sponsors entitled How Retention and Disposition is handled at the Bank of England. This will be presented by David Hill, Head of Knowledge at the Bank of England and Joanne Frampton, Consultant, Oyster IMS.
A sandwich lunch will be provided free of charge. This will be followed by a presentation from Cathy Williams from The National Archives on "The Record", the TNA's Olympic records programme.
Please note that due to lack of uptake the meeting on March 12th in Nottingham has been cancelled, if you were intending to attend the meeting in Nottingham but hadn't booked a place and would like to come to the London meeting please contact me off list.
