Dear Colleagues,
We would like to draw your attention on a CECAM tutorial, sponsored by CECAM through its French South-West node (CFCAM-GSO), held at University Paul Sabatier of Toulouse, from June 4th to June 8th, 2012.
This tutorial, entitled "Spring School on Path-Integral Molecular Dynamics", aims to present the basics and recent developments of the path-integral molecular dynamics method. This method gives access to the quantum satistical properties of the nuclei in complex atomic and molecular systems, and to their time-dependent properties as well. In particular, it allows investigating purely quantum phenomena such as zero-point vibrations and tunneling effects in physicochemical processes, at finite temperature. Advances in computational software and the advent of massively parallel computers have lead to a renewed interest of the PIMD methods, which are now being used increasingly in various areas of chemical and material physics.
Invited lecturers:
* Magali Benoit (CEMES, Toulouse, France)
* Florent Calvo (LASIM, Lyon, France)
* Nicolas Combe (CEMES, Toulouse, France)
* Luigi Delle Site (Freie Universität, Berlin, Germany)
* Cyril Falvo (Université Paris XI, Orsay, France)

Additional information about the tutorial can be found on the web page: http://congres.insa-toulouse.fr/PIMD/
This tutorial being supported by CECAM, there is no registration fee. However, the number of participants being limited to 40, they will be selected by the organizers on the basis of their scientific background.
The registration deadline is April, 15th. 2012.
Looking forward to seeing you in Toulouse,
Best regards,
The organizing committee,
Magali Benoit
Florent Calvo
Nathalie Tarrat
Mark Tuckerman
