Hello,
Apologies to those of you who don't like lists being used for advocacy purposes but I am passionate about this. Those of you who don't mind could you please circulate information below to all your contacts anywhere. Not sure if you are following this but the UK coalition Government's Health and Social Care Bill currently in the House of Lords would introduce marketisation and privatisation to the NHS on a scale unprecedented. You will find detailed briefings on the issues raised by the HSC bill at the following addresses including a really helpful question and answer briefing:
1. http://allysonpollock.co.uk/index.php?option=com_article&view=search&Itemid=3
2. http://www.healthprofessionals4nhs.co.uk/
Lansley is saying he has made major concessions on things like the secretary of states responsibility for guaranteeing the quality and availability of health care to all but he hasn't. He can't give in on this without limiting his plans for privatisation and he won't do this. It is really important that this rally is attended by many many people if the government is to get a sense of this being a major issue for large numbers and hence at least begin to think about withdrawing the bill.
Any ideas as to how this could be escalated to try to ensure a really mass rally welcome.
Jennie.
