Thanks very much to everyone who has responded so far. You've all been very helpful, and I'm sure the info you've given me is going to be extremely useful.

Subject: Re: [I-S] Accommodation in Florence this summer
italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Dear Judith,
I went on a similar research trip last summer to Florence, and got around high hotel costs by taking over a postgraduate student’s room for a month or so, which works out much cheaper, and also keeps food costs down because you have access to a kitchen.
The EUI in Fiesole even has a website for its postgrads letting their rooms:
http://www.eui.eu/ServicesAndAdmin/Housing/OffersRequestsEUIMembers/Offers.aspx
Accommodation for the summer break is unlikely to be posted now, but you can still get a feel for prices/distances from the centre.
If you would like to know more, feel free to send me a message off-list.
Matt

Dear all,
I'm a postgraduate student planning a research trip to Florence from approx. 9th June- 4th August 2012. I'm currently trying to find reasonably-priced accommodation and am having some trouble doing so. I would be very grateful for any suggestions/advice from list members.
Thank you in advance,
Judith Allan
