Hi Wafa,
I'm not looking for something to use in presentations. I am aware of
Prezzi and other open source equivalents (although I would say that the
advantage of Prezzi is that it's NON-linear, allowing you to change the
order of your slides as you go along). I'm looking for something to use
for project planning - basic tasks listed to get to the milestones with
timescales. But I don't really want it to be presented as a Gantt chart
as such.
I'm having a play around with iMindMap at the moment - looks promising
as you can enter the information into a Gantt chart and then generate a
mind map style diagram from it.
MSProject is a very useful tool that allows you to do all sorts of
clever things - as long as you put the work into keeping it up to date.
I don't want to (and can't afford to) spend too much time doing the
project management side of things but it is useful to keep track of what
needs doing and when.

Dear Rhys
I read your comments about wanting something linear but which could
still be moved around and manipulated
for presentations (rather than hard copy prints) Prezi might be useful
(Its good fun if you havent tried it before and in my opinion has
potential for many uses)
also there is a free basic general use and a free full edu use versions
