Dear Colleagues,
I would like to bring to your attention; to the Canadian Light Source call for proposals with is now open with a deadline of February 29th 2012. Successful proposals will be granted beamtime between July and January 2012.
The Far-Infrared beamline at the CLS is equipped with a Bruker IFS 125 HR spectrometer capable of resolutions of better than 0.001 cm-1. There are several sample cells available including a 2 meter white cell capable of pathlengths up to 80 meters, which can be cooled down to -80 °C. In the 80- 1000 cm-1 spectral region the synchrotron light source, can provide signal to noise ratios significantly better than conventional light sources, allowing high quality spectra to be obtained in a fraction of the time that would be required without a synchrotron source.
Remote access is available for some experiments with prior consent of the beamline scientist.
More information on the Far-Infrared beamline at the Canadian Light Source can be found at the following Websites.
