If like me you fell off your perch with boredom watching last night's BAFTAs, it is refreshing to turn our attention to an altogether more important and relevant award - and thankfully there isn't a bimbo starlet in sight!
The deadline for nominations for the Information Literacy Practitioner of the Year Award is just over 2 weeks away.
The award (sponsored by CILIP CSG IL Group and the Scottish Library & Information Council (SLIC)) is the most coveted accolade in the IL field. It recognises a significant contribution to IL by an individual practitioner. The winner will receive £500 for personal use and a further £500 will be donated to a charity of his/her choice.
Closing date: February 29th 2012. For details of the nomination process see:

The award will be presented at the LILAC conference dinner in the fabulous Old Fruit Market, Glasgow, April 12th.
Best wishes and good luck!
