Love the phrase and think I get what you mean!
We have all come across instances where the experts weren't right, and it does archaeology good to not accept pronouncements blindly all the time.
In this case however we do have a triumph of hope over fact, or heart over head if you prefer, and I am not sure that anything will sway the
'convinced it's Viking' camp, even scientific testing.
Sometimes you just have to smile and let things die down naturally.
