Dear Allstat,

We are currently looking to speak to SAS Programmers of all levels to join our growing Programming team across the organisation. I have included more information about the roles, and the Programming Group itself below, and I would be keen to speak with anyone who is either looking for their next role now, or who would be interested in getting in touch about roles for the future.

We are the worlds largest dedicated Biometrics Clinical Research Organisation leading the industry in data science solutions for the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology sector. With around 200 employees across the UK, Poland, India, South Africa, and the USA, we have a truly global culture which is friendly, supportive and inclusive. Our working environment is one in which everyone feel part of a bigger team, allowing our talent to play a role in delivering first class solutions with best in class customer service.

The SAS Programming Group is an international and diverse business unit, in which you will be able to work closely with peers across the UK, Poland, South Africa, India, and the US. The group promotes knowledge sharing both up and down the chain and the success of the group comes from its open lines of communication, with points, opinions and views of the team being valued and contributing to each project.

The programming group is split into two sections, the FSP model, working on client systems and to client standards, and the Fixed Fee programme, using Quanticate’s systems and standards. The global Programming group comprises over 80 specialists made up of Principal Programmers, Senior Programmers and Programmers.

Senior Programmers UK: Manchester, Edinburgh, Canterbury, Oxford, Hitchin, home based.
			US: Boston.

As a Senior SAS Programmer, you will lead a number of allocated projects and provide technical input and leadership in the preparation, review, and delivery of high quality programming deliverables and documentation.  Whilst working closely with the Principal Programmers and other functional staff, on a project level the you will be expected to effectively organise the quality control of deliverables and ensure associated documentation is completed by other Senior Programmers and Programmers.

In this role, the Senior SAS Programmer’s contribution to the overall success of the group is valued, and you may deputise for a Principal Programmer, liaising with other Principal Programmers, other functions, and the Head of Programming if required.  The work of the SAS Programming Group is closely integrated with the work of other groups, and as such you will need to be able to work closely with the project study teams (statisticians, clinicians, medical writers, project management) for the successful delivery of programming activities.

Programmers UK: Manchester, Edinburgh, Oxford, Canterbury, Hitchin.
		US: Boston.

As a SAS Programmer, you will work alongside other programmers and/or Statisticians to help deliver high quality programming output for study reporting and data management.

You will be responsible for creating derived SAS datasets, and programming tables, figures and listings according to the Statistical Analysis Plan (SAP) or the specified client requirement. In addition, you will perform quality control checks on programming output/derived datasets, ensuring that the work is to the standard appropriate for the study.

As part of your role, you will be responsible for reporting progress against schedules to the lead SAS Programmer or study Statistician, and will be required to produce a clear breakdown of bookable time for invoicing.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a numerate discipline, with relevant past experience in the pharmaceutical industry or medical sector. Ideally, you will have previous experience using SAS or other statistical packages, and have good communication and organisational skills. An understanding of basic statistics would be beneficial.
