On behalf of the CM13 Organising Committee, I would like to invite you to attend the International Conference on Computational Mechanics - CM13, to be held in Durham, UK from 25-27 March 2013. The conference is organised under the banner of the UK Association of Computational Mechanics in Engineering (ACME) replacing, for 2013, the annual ACME meeting with a much larger and truly international event.
Recent developments in the field of computational mechanics will be emphasized in this conference. Details of the conference scope can be found on the conference website: http://www.dur.ac.uk/cm13.conference and it is expected that all papers accepted will be presented during oral sessions. Ample time will also be allocated within the programme for formal and informal discussions, and for socialising.
There will two plenary lectures delivered by prominent figures in computational mechanics:
* Professor Francisco Armero (University of California, Berkeley, USA)
* Professor René de Borst (University of Glasgow, UK)
Abstracts not exceeding 300 words should be submitted by 13th April 2012 via the on-line facility accessible from the conference website. Abstracts should explain clearly the main objectives/achievements of the proposed contribution and be sufficiently informative for review purposes. Authors will be provided with instructions for the preparation of papers following review and acceptance of abstracts. All accepted papers will be peer-reviewed and published in the electronic conference proceedings.
The Committee and I look forward to welcoming you to CM13 and to Durham, the home of the oldest seat of learning in the UK.
Dr Ashraf Osman
