I'm not joking - but perhaps I'm saying that I prefer a more independent
way of travelling that avoids first class hotels and rushed itinaries -
I didn't really mean to cut across your project - in fact some of the
desert journeys need to be more organised -
but I suspect academics might prefer a less packaged approach,
less monuments in more detail and time to engage with the locals -
and indeed more economical and avoiding multinational hotels and
western food?
Just a thought
my weblog in construction so perhaps mymore low tech approach will be
clear -
if one stays put in luxor there are lectures by all the archeologists
currently at work in the area
