Hi,
I'm currently looking for a GIS highway technician/auditor for a central London highway contractor on a rolling monthly contract (for a minium of 3 months) to start as soon as possible.
The role is to maintain my client's highway asset inventory to an extremely high degree of positional and attribute accuracy by performing site surveys and audits of highway maintenance work.
The candidate must be willing to work from our Southwark office and also a depot in Mile End (although a large amount of time will be spent outdoors).
Responsibilities are:
• Assist in the maintenance of highway asset GIS layers and database to a high degree of accuracy (both positional and attribute accuracy).
• Perform data audits of both internally and externally produced GIS/designs/databases.
• Undertake site visits / spend large amounts of time outdoors performing updates/verifications.
• Identify errors with maps and design drawings.
• Aid in the achievement of performance indicators.
• Delivery of works within tight deadlines.
• Delivery of business plan objectives.
• Perform photographic surveys.
• Work with supply chain partners and all other highway operational and maintenance teams to ensure the correct update of data.
• Work with all highway operational and maintenance teams to enable correct importing of data into associated systems.
• Aid in the production of reports.
• General administrative duties.
Competencies:
• Ability to communicate effectively within all mediums.
• Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other team members
• Proficient use in GIS software – Particularly MapInfo Professional
• The ability to write MapBasic code would be advantageous.
• Ability to evaluate and deconstruct ICT information.
• Proficient in the use of other software packages e.g. MS Office etc.
The rate is up to £10 ph (for a 40 hour week).
