Dear list members
Please share with colleagues that fully funded PhD studentships are currently available at Loughborough University Graduate School. Deadline for applications is 30 March. Applicants must be eligible to pay tuition fees at UK/EU rates.
In particular, the following areas may be of interest to list members:
• Textiles/Textile Design – the interface of traditional textile processes and manufacturing (research questions could be framed within the context of current and emerging sustainability and socio-economic agendas and technological developments, relating to large scale or small scale production)
• Graphics/Urban Design - defining the pervasive role of 'graphic objects' in contemporary society; understanding the role of 'graphic objects' in the functioning of urban environments; exploring the potential contribution of graphic design to design research.
• Drawing - The School of the Arts hosts the Drawing Research Network and the online journal, Tracey, and considers drawing to be an essential conceptual and expressive component of image-making. We invite historical, theoretical and practice-based research on drawing as an autonomous activity, in socio-political contexts and in relation to discipline-specific applications of visual language.
