How about making a simple boat from tinfoil, to demonstrate the
principles of displacement and buoyancy, showing how a
heavier-than-water vessel can float? Add a bit of plasticine for cargo
and ballast to keep it upright. Then you can demonstrate what happens
if it springs a leak.
