Forced Migration Review would like to inform you of its plans for this year and next. Over that period we propose working on the following issues:
• North Africa
• Fragile states
• Preventing displacement
• Transitional justice
• Alternatives to detention, and deportation
• Humanitarian access
• Gender and sexual orientation-related limits to protection of forced migrants
• Reproductive health
We are already working on our 'Young and out of place' issue (due out May 2012; articles currently being reviewed and selected), and the call for articles for the ‘Fragile states’ issue is online at www.fmreview.org/fragilestates/
Further updates and calls for articles will be posted at www.fmreview.org/forthcoming.htm
The timings and the order of publication will depend very much on both the interest shown in these topics by individuals and organisations wanting to submit material for publication, and on the interest of organisations and governments in funding them. We welcome suggestions for articles/authors. We are also looking for partnerships with organisations and governments to work on these themes - in terms of content and/or financial support.
We will also continue to publish 'general articles' on forced migration-related topics that do not fall under the themes mentioned.
With apologies for any cross-posting of this message.
With our best wishes
Marion Couldrey and Maurice Herson
FMR Co-Editors
