The Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences is looking for excellent PhD candidates for Aberystwyth University’s new Doctoral Career Development Scholarship competition (DCDS). The scholarships cover Home/EU post-graduate tuition fees and a subsistence allowance of approximately £13,590 per year (2011-12 rates).
Awards are designed to enable students to develop the necessary skills required to meet their career choices and offer a breadth of development opportunities to enhance their research, teaching and transferable skills. Student within the scheme will make an agreed contribution to the Department as a condition of the PhD scholarship.
Applications are sought in areas relating to the Institute’s research groups:
• Cultural and Historical Geography
• New Political Geography
• Glaciology
• Quaternary and Recent Environmental Change
• River Basin Dynamics & Hydrology
