Please find below details of a forthcoming conference in February: New
Techniques and Practical Solutions for Investigating, Remediating and
Developing Brownfield Land in Scotland.
Delegates will hear a special keynote address from the Scottish
Government, as well as SEPA's interpretation of land and water
legislation and Scottish case studies including the Commonwealth Games
site.
Other talks include identifying and defining SPOSH; modelling and
statistical analysis for risk assessment; advances in site
characterisation for conceptual site models; asbestos in soil - the risk
and treatment options; sustainable remediation and the Scottish context;
sustainable in-situ thermal desorption; monitoring VOCs in soil gas; how
new housing developments are substantially reducing substructure costs;
and the potential of soil carbon sink engineering.
It will take place on 2 February at the Edinburgh Centre for Low Carbon
