Lecturer/Research Fellow in Medical Statistics

Applications are invited for a two-year position of a Lecturer/Research Fellow in Medical Statistics in the Southampton Statistical Sciences Research Institute (S3RI, http://www.southampton.ac.uk/s3ri/) at the University of Southampton.
Your duties will include: conducting research of international standing in medical statistics and supporting various projects undertaken by members of S3RI in Medical Statistics, including the development and application of capture-recapture methods in the life sciences, mixture modelling and meta-analysis, as well as teaching undergraduate and postgraduate statistics. You will also be encouraged to develop your own lines of research and apply for externally funded research grants.
You will have or be close to completing a PhD in Statistics or a related discipline, or equivalent research experience. You will also have knowledge of statistical modelling and inference, and experience of statistical computing and managing large and complex dataset. Knowledge in any of the above mentioned areas and experience of statistical programming and simulation is desirable.
