The Department of Transport and Planning at the faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences of TU Delft is looking for candidates for the vacancy of a Full Professor Transport Networks and Transport Infrastructure. The Department focuses on the design, planning and operation of transport systems, addressing road transport and public transport, passenger and freight transport systems. The section comprises some 60 staff members, of which 40 are employed on a temporary basis. We focus on research and education in: (1) Transport demand and supply and corresponding transport concepts, focusing on the analysis, modelling and prediction of travel patterns; (2) Design of transport networks and infrastructure for multimodal transport systems, focusing on the topology and geometric design of transport infrastructure; (3) The management of traffic flows, in particular measures to improve traffic efficiency in transport systems at both a local and network level.
