Some things have not changed. The black stuff’s still here.
But the areas of black are much larger.
The topology has changed, or some quantities
within it. Too many structures to know
for the knowing to become knowledge. End-stopped
in two directions, the sea bustles at Earth,
messing it about, even when nothing
substantial can be done with what is here.
The night was calm for all the roar one heard.
Some outlines have been altered. Not much else.
The white stone has become more grey. White sand,
which never was white as such, is greyer,
but less so than any darkened boulder.
Weed, the flimsiest of elements, has not moved.
