An Interdisciplinary Conference on the Study of Motion Pictures

21-22 January, 2012
Registration is now open for 'The End Of ...?' a two-day conference exploring various interpretations of finality, cycles and shifts in technology or cinema-going trends, narrative conclusions or inconclusiveness and issues of medium specificity, the digital and the death of cinema.
Keynote Speaker: Peter Kramer (University of East Anglia): "The End of the World as We Know It: Avatar, Global Hollywood and Film Studies"

Registration fee is 15/25 £ for concessions/full. Please fill in the registration form and return to us by Wednesday, January 11 latest. This includes a free ticket to a special screening of 2001: A Space Odyssey (Stanley Kubrick, 1968) at the Gulbenkian Cinema located on campus. Peter Kramer will introduce the film prior to the screening.
