Following on from the survey posted by Heather Wells at UEA in August, we are keen to gather more information about other institutions policies regarding the following:
Q1. What is the interval between overdue date and generating an invoice for replacement costs?
Q2. Do you have any special or differential procedures in terms of invoicing for students out on placement?
Q3. Do you have any longer loan period or other special arrangements for placement or distance learning students?
Q4. Do you invoice for unpaid fines on their own (where they are not associated with replacement costs?)
If so, do you have a lower limit, below which you do not invoice for fines?
Q5. What is your maximum fine per item?
Q6. How much can a student owe in fines before their library account becomes blocked?
Q7. What is your replacement price for out of print items?
Q8. Do you make a charge for invoicing (to cover overheads, additional work etc)?
If so, how much do you charge?
Many thanks in advance for your co-operation. We will do our best to collate repiles and post results to the list.
As some of you may now not be around until after Christmas, I would be grateful for replies before 20th January 2012.
Merry Christmas
