Dear colleagues
And now after testing the inclusions in garnet can say next:
1) It is Fe-rich mineral (EPMA data, EDS detects feo~66%,
al2o3~15,sio2~15%, but obviously Al and Si come form the
matrix(garnet) because the thicknesses of the needles < 1-3 micron).
2) Raman indicates peaks at 300cm-1 and 400cm-1 which are common for
hematite or goethite.
3) The needles sometime show hexagonal shapes (see BSE photo).
4) No evidences of Ti in the needles.
If it is hematite… Ops.. one more puzzle... Marry Christmas! :)
