Dear colleagues,
We would also like to point your attention to a session at the forthcoming EGU in Vienna (22-27 April 2012):
TS3.1/EMRP2.9/GD2.8
Deformation and strain localization from micro- to lithospheric scales (co-organized)
This session welcomes studies covering all aspects of rock deformation in metamorphic environments. It aims at spanning a bridge from micromechanics through rheology to multi-scale field-based investigations and innovative methodological approaches in two- to four dimensions. The submission of field-based studies is strongly encouraged, and we aim at integrating them with results from experimental rock deformation as well as numerical and analogue modeling. We also especially invite contributions that focus on fluid-rock interaction in the middle and lower crust. We expect to host talks and posters integrating views from structural geology, metamorphic petrology, mineralogy and applied hard rock geology.
Invited keynote lectures will be given by Whitney Behr and Michel Bestmann.
The deadline for abstract submission is 17 January 2012, with details at:

Please note that the deadline for applications for financial support of (young) scientists to attend the meeting is on 15 December 2011.
