Sounds very odd. I'd suggest you check ApoB. Cholesterol could be
checked on GCMS and electrophoresis would rule out LpX. I'd be happy to
help with any/all of the above (EDTA plasma preferred)

I have also not seen anything quite like this. The negative acute phase
reaction theory sounds possible. Only comparable change in cholesterol
I have seen (with normal trigs) has been in cholestasis. Could check by
ultracentrifugation / electrophoresis to look for anything odd?
