Elena,
We'd maybe like to retire ours too, at some point soon. For us, I guess
it breaks down into something like:
a) Get a new CREAM one going (done) that submits to same worker nodes.
b) Tell lcg VOs etc. about new CE.
c) Tell lcg VOs that it's going (lhcb, atlas, ...)
d) Set it off in GOCDB(is there some state of "BEING DELETED"?)
e) Drain it (jobs should dry up anyway, but I think I saw a proper
recipe for this, e.g.
http://scotgrid.blogspot.com/2009/02/draining-lcg-ce.html)
f) Turn it off, but allow accounting to publish final log data.
g) Get rid of it in GOCDB altogether
h) Set site BDII so it doesn't collect from that lcg-CE resource anymore.
i) Don't recycle the box for a few weeks, until all is known to be well.
That's how I'd do it, anyway. Has anybody got any more bits, hints, tips
for this procedure? Is there
anything wrong with it?
Steve
PS: It's a gray Liverpool Monday morning in late November, and "reply-to
behavior" is the least of my concerns.
