Dear Lisa,
There are several universities in the UK and Ireland that offer Masters
programmes in Records Management and/or Archives. They are:
Aberystwyth University - http://www.aber.ac.uk/en/dis/
University College Dublin - http://www.ucd.ie/archives/
University of Dundee - http://www.dundee.ac.uk/cais/
University of Glasgow - http://www.gla.ac.uk/departments/hatii/
University of Liverpool - http://www.liv.ac.uk/lucas/
University College London - http://www.ucl.ac.uk/dis/
Northumbria University -
http://www.northumbria.ac.uk/sd/academic/ceis/
All are members of the Forum for Archives and Records Management
Education and Research (FARMER). The Archives and Records Association,
UK and Ireland (ARA), publish information on careers in recordkeeping at
http://www.archives.org.uk/c-careers/careers.html
For our part in Dundee, the Centre for Archive and Information Studies
(CAIS) offers flexible Masters degrees by online distance learning in
Records Management with Information Rights or Digital Preservation, or
in Archives and Records Management. Our programmes are accredited by ARA
and Records and Information Management Professionals Australasia and the
CAIS team were highly commended by the Information and Records
Management Society in their awards in 2007. If you would like any
information on the programmes we offer please feel free to contact me
separately.
Kind regards,
Alan

have worked in Librarianship (I am chartered/educated to master’s

Since returning to the UK after a couple of years in the Channel

myself in a role akin to health/business records management.

would ideally like to undertake training on a ‘taught/contact basis’
within the region if possible.
