The students currently on the Master in Archives and Records Management programme will be surprised to learn about the focus on 'traditional historical records' as they complete their semester 1 assignments on ISO15489-compliant recordkeeping, Web 2.0 applications and aspects of continuum theory, as will the many MARM graduates now in RIM posts!
Our current prospectus is at http://www.liv.ac.uk/lucas/marm ; prospective candidates are welcome to contact me off-list for further information and discussion
Best wishes

The Records Management Msc at Northumbria university is recommended although this is by distance-learning.
Liverpool University have an archives course but this focuses on traditional historical records.
Good luck in whichever course you choose. It will be a worthwhile investment in your future career

My name is Lisa Bloom and I have worked in Librarianship (I am chartered/educated to master’s level) for nearly 25 years, mainly in the public sector, NHS, HE, etc. Since returning to the UK after a couple of years in the Channel Islands, I have taken a position within the private sector and found myself in a role akin to health/business records management.

Ideally I would like to undertake a course of formal study/training to accelerate my learning, but I am wondering where to start. I am based in the northwest of England; I am not disregarding distance learning but would ideally like to undertake training on a ‘taught/contact basis’ within the region if possible.
