Hello Kage,
This email sounds a lot like an "I don't want to do any research
on my own. Please share yours with me." request. You probably didn't
mean it like that, so here are some ideas to help you get more from
any connections with professional scholars.
If you are interested in researching a specific subject, start
out by gathering the research you have already done. Tell the people
you are writing to what you are interested in, what links, books or
articles you have already read and then ask their opinion of these
sources. You may also include some of your own analysis or frustration
with the lack of information you've found.
If you can't find anything at all in the area you want to
research, try writing a post explaining what you want to find and what
methods you've tried so far which were unsuccessful. (eg. "I'm
studying shedim, and know from the stories I've read that these aren't
simply 'Jewish Demons' but more like 'Jewish Fae', but all the
resources I've found so far look at them through the lens of Christian
Demonology. Even a Google search for '"Shedim" "Jewish" fae faerie
fairies" got me nothing of interest. Are there specific sources or
authors where I could find what I'm looking for?")
Good luck with your research!
- Elisheva
