Julia, I'd check splint bone of horse (i.e. metapodial II or IV, fore or
hind). It is a bit odd that the bone seems to have broken off the shaft
and taken some of the shaft with it, but it could happen if it were an
older animal with fusion. I doubt it's juvenile; porous because just in
cruddy preservational shape. Let me know if you get a better ID -- Cheers
