We've just completed. Project using iPads, for presentations and surveys, admittedly it's for a solar energy company rather than a museum but the principle is the same, and salespeople can sometimes be challenging.
We've used a combination of keynote to display the powerpoint presentation and devicemagic, a survey form application to collect information.
The survey form allows us to define questions in many formats, I.e. free text, select one, select many, take photos, draw a picture, get gps coordinates plus calculated answers and conditional questions. They have Also been very helpful when we have asked for modifications.
The survey data can be collected offline and completed forms automatically sent when a data collection is available. There are a number of options for what happens to the data, from a simple sending it out via email, to updating a spreadsheet on google docs, to an api that allows connection to crm etc.
The iPad may seem an expensive option, but in this case we needed 3G connectivity, and once the data contract is added the iPad was the most cost effective by a long way.
I was sceptical at first as most of our development has been either web based or android, but have been plesently surprised with the use of the iPad. So much so that we are now looking at linking it to our collections management system for the remote adding and updating of collections information.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if we can help.
