Subject: Research fatigue in Geography
My name is Aaron Priestly. I am currently in my final year of study for a BSc in Geography at Queen’s University Belfast. This research is being conducted to form part of my dissertation in Research Fatigue in Geography.
My research is based around my 3 main aims:
• What is ‘research fatigue’?
• How does it affect Geographical research?
• How have Geographers dealt with it?
Research Fatigue is the term used to describe when a subject disengages from the research process. It is a barrier to research recognised by many different academic disciplines, but one in which very little empirical research has been conducted. In Geography, in particular, few researchers have commented on it in their work, and so I wish to gain a better understanding how this phenomenon affects geographical research.
The results of the attached short survey will be used to gain a better understanding of the opinions on Research Fatigue (if any,) of those carrying out Geographical research. The results will likely be used in some form as part of my dissertation. Privacy will of course be the utmost priority and all results will be annonymised.
Thank you for your help!
