Use your expertise in statistical modelling to help understand the fundamental biology of cancer. A postdoctoral position is available in the group of Dr. Sach Mukherjee at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam to work on signalling networks in cancer. The position offers the opportunity to develop and exploit advanced inference methods for biological discovery: modelling predictions can and will be tested in the laboratory and used to critically inform further experiment. The inferential challenges are in themselves non-trivial and open-ended, and there is scope for methodological work also.
You should have, or shortly expect to receive, a PhD in statistics, machine learning, applied mathematics, computational biology or a related area. Exposure to computational statistics and relevant topics such as graphical models and inference for dynamics is an advantage. Exposure to, or experience in, molecular and/or cancer biology is desirable, but not essential. Please direct informal enquiries to [log in to unmask] Further information is available at:
