I'm developing a meta-analysis and I was wondering if it is possible to
consider the difference between two disease-free survivals as a difference
between two proportions. So:
Var(p1) = p1(1-p1)/n1 as the variance of a disease-free survival,
SE(d)= sqrt{p(1-p)(1/n1+1/n2)} is the standard error of the difference
between two disease-free survivals and where
p=(n1p1+n2p2)/(n1+n2)
Finally, in order to develop the meta-analysis I will use as weights:
W(d)=1/(SE(d)^2)=(n1*n2)/[p(1-p)*(n1+n2)]
Am I allowed to use this method of meta-analysis? Do you know something like
this in literature?
