Fourth Translators' Evening
with Sasha Dugdale and James Womack
PUSHKIN CLUB PROGRAMME
Sasha Dugdale is well-known both as a poet and as a translator. Her recent poem collection THE RED HOUSE has received excellent reviews. Her new translation of Chekhov's "Lady with a Dog" is sure to be a revelation.
James Womack's new translations of Mayakovsky are outstanding. I have never before heard Mayakovsky's voice so perfectly reproduced in English. And Womack's rhymes are every bit as brilliant as Mayakovsky's own.
This promises to be a remarkable evening. Do please inform friends and colleagues about it.
Yours,
Robert Chandler
