An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Records Management team of the Parliamentary Archives. This post is involved in a wide range of professional work, offering an excellent opportunity to participate in every aspect of the records life-cycle. As a member of the Records Management team, the postholder’s key activities will include:
• contributing to initiatives and projects which support better records and information management, including the implementation of an Electronic Document and Records Management System (through Parliament’s SPIRE programme), which will involve preparing offices and training staff in accordance with the rollout timetable.
• promoting good records and information management practices across the House administrations
• maintaining the corporate classification scheme and disposal practices (i.e. retention schedules)
• auditing offices’ compliance with policy and procedures
• developing and delivering training
• providing advice, support and guidance to staff of both Houses
This is a fixed term appointment until October 2012, with the possibility of extension or permanency.
