The Department of Chemistry, College of Natural Sciences, invites
applications from outstanding individuals for a position at the Junior
Researcher level (11 months) in Experimental Physical Chemistry with
focus in solid state Astrochemistry. This hire is designed to enhance
the activities of the University of Hawaii at Mānoa in the
cross-disciplinary W.M. Keck Research Laboratory in Astrochemistry.
Candidates must have a PhD degree in chemistry or physics and are
expected to develop a vigorous, externally funded research program,
publish research results in peer-review journals, and operate the W.M.
Keck Research Laboratory and the Liquid Nitrogen Facility as a user
facility. Experience in pulsed lasers, pulsed UVVUV light generation,
UHV technology, mass spectroscopy (RGA/Re-TOF), spectroscopy (infrared,
Raman, UVVIS), technical drawings (ACAD), and programming (Labview/C) is
of advantage. Applications shall be sent as a single pdf document to

position is initially for up three years and is renewable based on
satisfactory progress, publication record, and extramural research
funds. We are searching for candidates at the Junior Researcher level
(11 months), but an appointment at the Assistant Researcher level (11
months) is possible for exceptionally well-qualified candidates.
