Dear Danny,
We are just finishing the development of a touch screen based system for one of our customers that interacts with the Adlib Collection Management System though it's API.
The app has been written using WPF (Windows Presentation Framework) and support multi-touch screens with gestures.
The app depicts an open depot storage area in which people can browse and look at details for the objects they see.
The app runs on bulk standard Windows 7 PC's, communication with the database server is though web services.
The objects that are depicted in the app correspond to the locations in the object database, in other words: when an object is moved in the database it is also moved in the app.
I can post some screen shots later this week if you find that useful
You can also contact me off-list
Kindest regards,
Bert Degenhart Drenth

Hi
I've got a bundle of questions about in-gallery interactives....
Do any of you have kiosks/interactives/screen-based displays in your permanent galleries or public spaces on which the content regularly changes? How do you manage this? Do you reconfigure the equipment each time for for new content, commission content based on the equipment's spec, or what? Who commissions/programmes/curates the content? How long, realistically, does such a thing last before you have to replace all the stuff from scratch?
Thanks in advance -- happy to take replies off list or to collate answers if it's of wider interest...
Danny
