Hi,

At the newly opend Riverside Musuem in Glasgow, we have placed a huge emphasis on digital content, with is acting as the main interpretive method for delivering out some of our stories. With this in mind, we have had to create a bespoke CMS which can updated at the click of a button by anyone with authorisation. There are over 100 screens deliveriing everything from AV content, multi-player gameplays, customer feedback screens, what's on and orientation screens, and e-storybooks. Added to this are out E-intros- electronic introduction panels that display, text, film, animation and still images, plus multi langyauges options including BSL. all of our digitial content on the floor is run by individual mini macs, with the back end also run on a Mac.

This emans that we are able to change displays, and update content as required. The main focus is the E-Intros, where if a member of public brings an image relating to a story, we can simply scan it, give it a caption and upload it onto the gallery floor- assuming it fits our curitorial remit.

As we've only just opened, and have not amde changes to the displays, the process has not ben refined, but liek any exhibition/content changes, they will need to go through the same rigorious curitorial process as any other type of interpretation.

The dialy changes to the What's on screens, have been passed to our front of house team.

if anyone is in Glasgow, i suggest thet come and have a look, otherwise, Museums ID is offfering a study day soon.

Any questions, please get in touch, although you may have realised I am not the technical expert! But the digital interpretation manager is presenting at this event.
