Hello, I asked about this Chinese chief exaniner at Edexcel Exam Board during the summer holiday, she wrote following:
'I am afraid we all just have to wait for further instruction and news.
Below is a quote from the newsletter -
As we find out more about these GCSE reforms, we will let you know. We'll also develop specific advice and support to help you implement these changes. Further information will be made available on the subject pages of our website.
You can also find information and FAQs <http://www.ofqual.gov.uk/help-and-support/94-articles/664-gcse-unitisation-faqs> about GCSE reforms on the Ofqual website <http://www.ofqual.gov.uk/news-and-announcements/83/660> .
I do not think things will change overnight. There must be a lot of internal discussion going on right now.'
So I think we are just waiting for.

Hi
I mean after 2012, my MFL head has told me that all the language exams are going to change again after that, apparently, the controlled assessments are going to be done away with, just wonder if anyone knows of any details.

Do you mean the exam start 2009? if, please send me your email address, I can pass what I have. All my English school students this summer got 13A* and 1A of 14. Some of them gained full marks(300/300). In addition, three British born Chinese gained A*(300). However I am only proud of one my adult 73 years old English man, who got A* -writing full marks (because he is old people, he can only do listening with one ear.)

Hi
Does anyone have any information about the new GCSE for languages? As I am in the process of preparing a pack for Mandarin for current Y9 options so just wondering if I need to include info to reflect the new changes which might affect this year group by the time they sit GCSE Chinese. Many thanks,
Bao Kie
