Hi Ian,
George is fairly interested in attending the pre-meeting techies workshop, but much more interested in hanging with the Talis developers the following day working on the widgets (that secret cable you mentioned to me last week). Would that be possible?

Subject: Re: TAUG Pre-Conference Event Confirmed
Hi Melanie,
Thanks for your feedback.
The user group is organised by Talis Aspire customers, and the location/date gets agreed in previous meetings between attendees. With previous meetings in Nottingham (Midlands) and Manchester (Northern), I believe London was selected as most accessible South region location. The date is as previous years, because I think it was agreed to be found a good time for the majority of attendees with students having broken up.
The pre-conference is something we've introduced following discussions at the previous user group, when we tried this for the first time with the MIS half-day workshop. This was a great success, and it was deemed a really useful way of helping attendees maximise their time, especially those travelling long distances, and return on investment for travel/accommodation. This is why we do it as a half-day, to allow morning travel.
The user group day itself is on the 15th, so hopefully it will be possible for someone from Derby to travel down in the morning to attend the event.
All the best
Ian
