Hi Ian
What a shame that this workshop is being held in London just before Christmas. We would very much like to participate in such a work shop any chance of you holding something similar at Birmingham? Both Lydia and I feel that we could contribute to and gain much form this workshop but it is impossible to visit London for 2 days and an overnight stay at that, at that time of year.

Subject: TAUG Pre-Conference Event Confirmed

I am pleased to inform you that Talis will be hosting a half-day event (on the 14th December, 1pm-5pm) as a precursor to the TAUG Event on the 15th.

We are still shaping the agenda, but the overall theme will have a 'technical' flavour and will operate over two parallel streams.

The first stream will be a 'hands-on' workshop. We are hoping to have several Talis Aspire developers available to work with a small group of individuals on recognisers to extend the bookmarklet capabilities - pairing with the developers, and helping with the user acceptance testing as these are built during the session.

The second stream will focus on API's and widgets. We aim to provide a non-technical introduction to each concept, and breakout to brainstorm ideas for future widgets. This will likely take a similar approach to the June 2011 MIS workshop, delivering stories (i.e. mini-specifications), and should be great fun.

Towards the end of the day, we can all meet up and share the results of our efforts. The aim is to be able to deliver a demonstrable improvement in Talis Aspire CE as a result of our efforts by the end of the conference itself.

June Hedges (UCL) will be sending out the registration details in the next few weeks, and there will be an option on there to indicate you are also interested in the pre-event.

I will provide more details as they develop.

All the best
Ian
