Do you need to develop or revise a preservation policy as part of your long-term collections management strategy? Would you like guidance on what to consider and include? This training day is aimed at those who are new to the preservation of library and archive collections and would like to learn more.
The day starts with an overview of preservation policies, what to include and how to format a policy. Subsequent sessions include case studies on implementing policies and a writing exercise.
Previous attendees found that the day helped with "distinctions between policy, strategy, guidelines and action plans"; and "Practical information regarding how to develop an effective policy and what to include/exclude from it."
The day is led by preservation and collections management consultant Jonathan Rhys-Lewis (ACR).
Cost: £100 + VAT including lunch and refreshments (£75 + VAT for members of Research Libraries UK)
