Proposals are now being accepted for the Children in Film Area of the
33rd annual SWTX PCA/ACA conference February 8-11, 2012, in
Albuquerque, New Mexico.(www.swtxpca.org<http://www.swtxpca.org/>).
Proposals are welcome that explore and interrogate the
representations of children in Hollywood film, independent film,
foreign film, and/or children's film. Additional topics of interest
concerning children in film or images of children in film may
include, but are not limited to: coming-of-age; children of color;
negotiations of racial/ethnic/cultural differences; negotiations by
children of social, political, economic conditions; children's
relationships with adults, parents, siblings, or peers as represented
in film; gender and children; sexuality and children; children of the
Diaspora as portrayed in film; children and technology; the child
body; ideology and the child; children's education, and any other
topic that explores the child image in film.
Panel suggestions are welcome!
Deadline for submissions is November 15, 2011. Graduate students are
welcome to submit.
Abstracts of 200-300 words should submitted to

Please include full contact information--including affiliation, and a
brief, 50 word biography with your abstract submission.
