Alec, you set the pricing, so you determine the percentage so to
speak. They have different promotion channels tho. They also do
promotion & distribution to libraries & chain bookstores but they take
way more of a cut for that. But for selling via Amazon online their
take is much more reasonable... I actually buy quantities of each
title & try to keep them all in stock & encourage people to buy thru
my press direct, since I can make the most that way. But it's fun to
allow them to sell Xexoxial books because it happens invisibly in the
background & I don't have to do anything. I get a monthly report & a
check direct deposited.
There are things I'm not happy with like one choice of coverstock etc,
but for me & my resources it is the best option.
SPD is a distributor, not a POD so they are pretty different
operations & of course SPD is gonna get your titles in front of a very
different set of eyes than Amazon online...
