Great opportunity for a Senior (Pharmaco)Epidemiologist to join a pharmaecutical organization located in London.
Responsibilities:
• Generating project relevant epidemiologic data including incidence and prevalence estimates for specific target populations, disease segmentation and co-morbidities, burden of illness and treatment outcomes and validating standard epidemiologic datasources available within the industry including DaVinci; MattsonJack Cancermpact; Decision resources; SEER MedStat, Globocan, IPD etc. before executing complex searches and analyses.
• Responsible for identifying epidemiologic data sources relevant for comprehensive epidemiologic strategies to achieve product strategic targets and objectives (includes clinical, safety, regulatory and marketing reimbursement/pricing objectives).
• Provide support to product and project teams including design, implementation and analysis of epidemiological studies and review of study proposals from internal and external sources.
• Support the Clinical Research Departments and Product safety Department in clinical trial planning, creation and conduct of risk management strategies utilizing Epidemiology research techniques.
• Provide timely epidemiologic input into regulatory responses and risk management reports including safety update reports, labeling, and Health Authority requests.
• Provide epidemiological and risk management support to drug safety department in analyses of data from adverse events reporting systems (e.g. AERS, WHO), and interpretation and reporting of data analysis results to other line functions.
Requirements:
• Ideally, the candidate should have a Ph.D. (in (pharmaco)epidemiology), or Pharm.D. with a masters in (pharmaco)epidemiology or health economics, or MD with a MPH in epidemiology.
• Scientific record as proven by publications in peer-reviewed epidemiologic journals
• A minimum of 1 year experience in the pharmaceutical industry, CRO health-related consulting company, or academia, directly relevant to the responsibilities of the position are required
• Knowledge of the epidemiologic methods involved in the quantification of potential safety signals, the determination of cause and effect relationships for potential safety signals and the application of epidemiologic methods
• Excellent qualitative and quantitative Epidemiological skills, including with regards to study design and analysis of health insurance claims and other automated healthcare databases.
• Familiarity with SAS or similar software for data manipulation and data tabulation
