Hello all. I wonder if I could ask for a little help. I'm a
prehistorian by nature but find myself doing some work on an early C17th
AD landscape, somewhat of a fish out of water. I'm struggling slightly
to find any landscape studies for this period - plenty on architecture
and formal gardens but little on how landscapes were shaped and viewed.
Essentially I'm interested in how a formal approach to a newly built
great house was shaped and controlled from some distance away, and its
relationships with the local village, church, roads and natural features.
Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.
