Position : Biostatistican
This individual will employ statistical programming for the development of
application software and provide data analysis support to the Office of
Clinical Sciences (OCS) and Centre of Quantitative Medicine (CQM) senior
staff and faculty. You will use programming languages such as C++, FOTRAN,
mySQL, SQL, HTML to develop user-friendly application software. You will use
statistical software to reshape and reformat data, perform data analysis and
to produce summary tables, data listings, plots and graphical displays.
Other tasks include performing sample size and power calculations using
available software, as well as writing and reviewing statistical sections of
grant proposals, study protocols and statistical analysis plans. In
addition, this role will also be required to assist in literature searches
and to provide statistical support to third year medical students of the
School.
Requirement
• Master’s Degree in Statistics or Biostatistics, preferably with a BSc in
Computer Science
• Highly competent and knowledgeable in C++/ FOTRAN/mySQL/SQL/HTML as well
as STATA/SAS/SPSS programming
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in C++/ FOTRAN/mySQL/SQL/HTML, preferably
in a clinical research environment
• Able and willing to manage multiple projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Able to function at a high level of autonomy
• Knowledgeable and competent in general statistical theory and methods
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Able to teach and demonstrate software applications
