Research Fellow position (Biostatistics)
Ensai, the French graduate-level engineering school specialized in Statistics, is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic research fellow in Biostatistics for a period up to two years.
The "Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Analyse de l'Information" (Ensai, www.ensai.com) is a French Grande Ecole, and more specifically, one of the prestigious "écoles d'ingénieurs", and a member of the European University of Brittany (UEB - "Université Européenne de Bretagne", http://www.ueb.eu). Historically associated with INSEE (the French Official Statistics Institute), Ensai offers six Master level statistical specializations including Biostatistics. Ensai professors, visiting fellows and PhD students are members of the Center for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST, www.crest.fr).
The research fellow in Biostatistics position is open through the third call of the Research-Based University Chairs of Excellence (R-BUCE WEST, http://www.rbucewest.ueb.eu/) programme of UEB.
The Role
Ensai, located near Rennes in North-West France, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic, postgraduate research fellow with excellent track records in Biostatistics. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake high-level methodological research in Biostatistics and to contribute to the development of a genuine Biostatistics research group in the school. She/he is also expected to supervise research students in statistical modelling with applications to life sciences. The statistical and life science community in Rennes provide a wide range of opportunities for exciting collaborations, and the candidate will be strongly encouraged to develop collaborative links with other research entities of the UEB.
The successful applicant will be expected to undertake a small amount of teaching in English or French within Ensai's Biostatistics specialization (statistical methods for clinical trials, epidemiology, genomic data analysis, etc.).
The Person
Applicants should have a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, or similar and prove high-level knowledge in statistical modelling. The applicant is expected to have at most ten years of experience following her or his PhD. Researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc) in France for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference date. Fluency in English or French is required.
Remuneration
The financial regime (salary + allowances) will correspond to "junior researcher" (up to 10 years research experience after PhD) fellowship of the R-BUCE WEST programme.
